As one of the leading global generics companies with a traditionally strong presence in Europe, STADA is primarily positioned in long-term growth markets. The Group's strategic premise continues to be the deliberate avoidance of costly and high-risk research on new active ingredients. As a result, the product portfolio is geared to off-patent active ingredients that have been established in the market for many years. One of STADA's major strengths is its quick and efficient change management and associated flexibility, which enables the Group to react to market changes at short notice. This also involves establishing a culture of cost efficiency, which is supported by continuous cost optimization as well as the current implementation of the "STADA - build the future" project.
STADA focuses on two core segments in the health care market: generics i.e. pharmaceuticals which, after patent expiry, are offered at the same quality but at significantly lower prices, and branded products which supplement the product portfolio with comparably high margins and add to diversification of sales, earnings and risk.
Based on a strong market position in Germany, STADA initiated an international focus at an early stage and is active in more than 80 countries today while also maintaining a local focus. With acquisitions in Eastern Europe and Asia, the Group is also present in emerging countries, which offer attractive opportunities primarily through self-pay patients.
